Shortly after getting selected No. 11 overall by the Charlotte Hornets, Canadian guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 12 pick of the draft, Miles Bridges and a couple second-round picks.
Gilgeous-Alexander, a Hamilton, Ont., native, played one year at Kentucky, where he averaged 14.4 points and 5.1 assists, shooting 40.4 per cent from three-point range.
Bridges is an athletic combo forward from Michigan State who won Big Ten Freshmen of the year in 2017 and averaged 17.1 points and seven rebounds in 34 games played the Spartans last season.
