Canadian Cory Joseph has been sent to the Austin Toros of the NBA D-League after playing just four games for the San Antonio Spurs.
Joseph was a first-round pick by the Spurs, 29th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. However, the rookie guard hasn’t received the playing time he needs in order to develop. So far in 22 minutes he has totaled 2 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Spurs want Joseph to be playing more and since their affiliate isn’t too far away in Austin, call-ups won’t be a problem. The 6’3" guard will join the Toros at practice Tuesday and will then debut for his new team on Thursday night as they host the Maine Red Claws.
