Kings’ Collison has surgery for core muscle injury

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison has undergone surgery to repair a core muscle injury.

The team said the surgery was done Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Collison will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be out for approximately six weeks.

Collison is averaging 16.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and a team-high 5.6 assists per game this season.
