Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is the leading overall vote-getter (977,444), followed closely by the Miami Heat’s LeBron James with 970,314 votes, after the second returns of NBA All-Star balloting.
Bryant, who recently passed the 30,000-point plateau, is followed in the Western Conference by the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant (924,898), while the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony (891,759) sits behind James in the East.
James, Anthony and the Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett (328,716) pace the Eastern Conference’s frontcourt players. The Heat’s Dwyane Wade leads all Eastern Conference backcourt players with 645,875 votes, followed by the Celtics’ Rajon Rondo (574,272).
Following the second returns Bryant is joined in the backcourt by intra-city rival Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers with 542,564 votes. Durant, the NBA’s leading scorer the past three seasons, leads all frontcourt players in the West, followed by the Lakers’ Dwight Howard (616,150) and the Clippers’ Blake Griffin (489,795).
