Los Angeles Lakers all-star Anthony Davis experienced back spams in Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers and will not return, the team announced.

Los Angeles had a 30-point lead mid-way through the third quarter, when Davis was ruled out.

It is not clear at this time if the decision to have him sit out was precautionary or indicative of an issue that will cause Davis to miss further action.

Davis finished Game 4 with 18 points, five rebounds, five assists, a steal and two blocks in 18 minutes.

Overall in the post-season, Davis has averaged 29.3 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

Game 5 between the Lakers and Trail Blazers takes place on Wednesday.
