The NBA schedule makers gave fans a treat with their opening-night schedule, pitting the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics against one another to tip things off.

They’re both great teams of course, but what made this matchup so special was the off-season drama between LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

Irving requested a trade out of Cleveland, determined to grow out of James’ shadow, and the gossip surrounding the two’s relationship picked up from there.

Tuesday’s opener came down to the buzzer, with Irving failing to connect on a potential game-tying three-pointer with LeBron’s hand in his face.

There appeared to be no hard feelings between the two No. 1 picks when it was all said and done, however, as the dynamic talents shared a warm post-game embrace:

The star-studded hug was nice, and it appears as though Irving has also not forgotten the love he shared with his other former teammates.
