The Maine Red Claws have acquired former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett from the Northern Arizona Suns, the team announced on Thursday.

The Boston Celtics G League affiliate’s acquisition of Bennett is pending a physical.

In exchange for Bennett and Northern Arizona’s third-round pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft, Maine will send the returning player rights to Wesley Saunders and a second-round draft pick.

Bennett, a Toronto native, has had a disappointing pro career since becoming the first Canadian selected with the top pick in the NBA Draft back in 2013. The 24-year-old has appeared in 151 NBA games for four different teams, averaging just 4.4 points and 3.1 rebound per contest. He last played in an NBA game last January for the Brooklyn Nets.

After a short stint with Fenerbahçe of the Turkish Super League ended with his release in May, Bennett joined Northern Arizona in October. In 14 games with the Phoenix G League affiliate, Bennett is averaging 11.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
