Mavericks to retire No. 24 in honour of Kobe Bryant

NBA analyst Michael Grange joined Sportsnet Central to discuss the death of Kobe Bryant.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban announced Sunday that the team will retire No. 24 in tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.

Bryant passed away on Sunday, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others, in a helicopter crash near Calabasas, California. He was 41.

“We are shocked and saddened by the devastating news of the passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna,” said Cuban in a statement.

“Kobe’s legacy transcends basketball, and our organization has decided that the number 24 will never again be worn by a Dallas Maverick.”

Cuban also took to Twitter himself to express his grief.
