NBA fines Raptors GM Ujiri for use of profanity

Masai Ujiri joined PTS to talk about the Raptors’ first game of the playoffs, how they’ll respond and apologized once again for his profane message to the Brooklyn Nets -- for which he was fined.

Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri has been fined $25,000 for his use of “obscene language in a public setting,” a statement released by the NBA says.

This statement comes after Ujiri was reportedly excused by NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

Ujiri found himself in the spotlight Saturday after insulting Brooklyn before an outdoor gathering of fans in advance of Toronto’s first post-season game since 2008. He later apologized in a brief meeting with the media at halftime.

Toronto lost game one 94-87, and will play game two at Air Canada Centre on Tuesday.
