Nets coach Kidd spills drink, earns timeout

In the dying seconds of Wednesday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd found himself in a sticky situation. With 8.3 seconds on the clock and his team down by two with no timeouts, Kidd needed to get his team together to draw up one final play.

In a moment of strategical genius, he had point guard Tyshawn Taylor bump into him, spilling his drink onto the floor and causing an unofficial timeout.

Despite his best efforts, Kidd’s Nets were unable to make their final shot as a Paul Pierce three-point attempt clanked off the rim. Brooklyn would go on to lose 99-94.
