Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving is day-to-day after suffering a left side facial fracture, the team announced Wednesday.

Irving suffered the injury Tuesday during a practice after he was hit with a “stray inadvertent elbow,” general manager Sean Marks said.

The Nets signed Irving to a four-year, $141-million contract as a free agent in July. Last season with the Boston Celtics, Irving averaged 23.8 points and 6.9 assists in 67 games.
