The Denver Nuggets have promoted Calvin Booth from assistant general manager to GM, the team announced Tuesday.

Booth fills a role that was vacated in April when the Chicago Bulls hired away former general manager Arturas Karnisovas to become their executive vice president of basketball operations.

Booth, 44, had previously worked as director of player personnel for the Minnesota Timberwolves and spent 10 years as a player with the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings and Timberwolves.
