By The Numbers: Luka Doncic’s Game 4 performance for the ages

Watch as Luka Doncic capped a triple-double performance with this buzzer-beating 3-pointer to get the Mavericks evened up with the Clippers in their series.

If Luka Doncic needed any more reason to assert himself as one of the young rising stars in the NBA, his Game 4 performance against the Los Angeles Clippers did exactly that, and he wasn’t even expected to play in the game.

The Dallas Mavericks star was listed as questionable before the game with a sprained ankle but Doncic was showing no ill effects as he finished the game with a 43-point, 17-rebound, 13-assist triple-double.

Not only did Doncic become just the third player in NBA history to tally 40 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a post-season game, he was also the second-youngest player in NBA history to put up back-to-back triple-doubles in the playoffs.

His performance allowed the Mavericks to draw even with the Clippers in their first-round series at 2-2 as they outscored Los Angeles 63-55 in the third and fourth quarters to force overtime as they were trailing by 21 points at one point in the game.

The NBA world reacted accordingly to Doncic’s performance as they made sure to give the young star the spotlight.

You have to wonder what Doncic would have been able to do with two healthy ankles.
