The Miami Heat officially announced the signing of Greg Oden after the seven-foot centre cleared his physical Wednesday morning.
Oden will earn around $1 million over the 2012-13 season while he holds a player option for the following season.

Oden, who has not played an NBA game since Dec. 5, 2009, sat out last season after undergoing his last procedure in February 2012. The former Portland Trail Blazer spent the season in Columbus trying to recover while attending classes at his alma mater, Ohio State.
The seven-foot centre was selected first overall by Portland in the 2007 NBA draft but only appeared in 82 games for the Trail Blazers over the following two seasons.
