Nickeil Alexander-Walker will be out of the New Orleans Pelicans‘ lineup indefinitely after suffering a right wrist hairline fracture.

The Toronto native experienced discomfort during Thursday’s practice and later underwent an MRI which determined the injury, the club said in a statement.

New Orleans says the rookie guard requires further evaluation to figure out the next steps on his recovery.

Alexander-Walker had recently re-joined the NBA club from its G-League affiliate after struggling to get minutes in the team’s rotation.

In 41 games this season, he’s averaging 5.1 points-per game.
