New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson will miss the remainder of Summer League after suffering a bruised left knee in his team’s opening game of the tournament on Friday night.
Pelicans president of basketball operations David Griffin said through the statement that holding Williamson out of Summer League is a precautionary measure, and that the former Duke Blue Devil will still partake in training and conditioning with the team’s performance department.
Williamson was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft at Barclays Center.
