A game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers that was postponed in the wake of Kobe Bryant’s death has been rescheduled for April 9, the NBA announced on Friday.
The game was originally scheduled for Jan. 28, two days after Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among nine victims killed in a helicopter crash near Calabasas, Calif.
On the day after the crash, the NBA released a statement in regard to the postponement decision, which read: “The decision was made out of respect for the Lakers organization, which is deeply grieving the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people in a helicopter crash on Sunday.”
In addition to the April 9 rescheduling of Lakers vs. Clippers, the NBA announced some corresponding schedule changes on Friday:
• The Chicago Bulls at Clippers game originally scheduled for April 8 will be played on April 6
• The Golden State Warriors at Lakers game originally scheduled for April 9 will be played on April 7
• The Bulls at Lakers game originally scheduled for April 7 will be played on April 8
