R.J. Barrett names top five schools he will consider joining

Rowan Barrett Jr. (FIBA)

R.J. Barrett surely has plenty of offers from major NCAA schools, but the 17-year-old Canadian has managed to narrow down his list to five programs.

Arizona, Duke, Michigan, Oregon and Kentucky are all in the running for Barrett, who will begin his NCAA career next season.

Barrett, who recently reclassified to the 2018 class, was named tournament MVP at the FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup, where Canada won its first-ever gold medal last month. He will be eligible for the 2019 NBA draft.

Fellow Canadian Simi Shittu, another five-star recruit, recently announced his top 10 list with Duke, Kentucky and Oregon also among his final candidates.
