With only 20 seasons under their belt and no championships to their name the Toronto Raptors haven’t fielded many truly memorable teams.

However, the next instalment in the NBA 2K video game franchise will show some love to one of their finest squads.

2K Games spokesperson “Ronnie 2K” has announced the 1999-2000 Raptors will be among the historic teams to be featured by NBA 2K16.

The 1999-2000 Raptors managed a 45-37 record and earned the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference before losing in the first round. While the team failed to make noise in the postseason it wasn’t without its memorable moments and players.

Vince Carter led the team in scoring with 25.7 points per game and ascended to icon status with his legendary performance in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

The Butch Carter-led squad was also notable in Raptors history because it was Tracy McGrady’s final year with the franchise before he was acquired by the Orlando Magic. At the tender age of 20, McGrady scored 15.4 points per contest adding 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Beyond its two stars, the Raptors roster that season was composed of fan favourites like Charles Oakley, Antonio Davis, Alvin Williams, and Muggsy Bogues.
