Report: Raptors’ Calderon welcomes trade

Jose Calderon would welcome a trade from the Toronto Raptors, according to reports out of Dallas.

Marc Stein of ESPN Dallas first reported the news that the six-year Raptors veteran would accept a trade knowing full well that the Raptors have no plans to release him through the amnesty clause.

Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo admitted Thursday that Calderon was unhappy with the club after they acquired former Houston Rocket point guard Kyle Lowry via trade.

Dwane Casey, the head coach of the Raptors, said Thursday the two guards could co-exist to provide Toronto a one-two punch at the point, but Calderon thinks otherwise.

In six NBA seasons, all with Toronto, Calderon has averaged 9.9 points, 7.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds.
