Raptors’ Casey named Eastern Conference coach of the month

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey talks about being back on the road after a 7-game home stand and how well the team plays away from home.

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has been named the NBA Eastern Conference coach of the month.

The Raptors finished January with a 12-2 record, including a franchise-best 11-game winning streak to close out the month.

Toronto held opponents to an average of 97.4 points over the month, the third-lowest total in the league. They were third in the conference offensively with an average of 105.6 points.

During the 11-game winning streak the Raptors defeated five opponents with winning records and won by an average margin of plus-11.7 points.

Casey joined the Raptors as head coach June 21, 2011.

He holds the franchise record for coaching victories with 186 and has a .518 (186-173) winning percentage in five seasons with Toronto.
