The NBA released their Top 10 dunks of the 2015-16 regular season earlier today, and DeMar DeRozan’s poster jam over Jazz centre Rudy Gobert tops the list.
The Raptors guard pulled off the feat late in a 93-89 loss in Utah on November 18th.
With the Raps down 81-82 in the fourth quarter, DeRozan blew past his defender toward the hoop where he was met by the 7’1 Gobert and then— you might know where this is going— dunked on him.
The dunk itself is impressive, but made even more considering Gobert is one of the NBA’s elite rim defenders, finishing third in the league with 2.2 blocks this season (which is actually down slightly from last year).
DeRozan earned a reputation as a top-shelf dunker before he came to the NBA and has since appeared in the dunk contest in 2010 and 2011, with some solid work to show for it:
Looking back, it was a great season for dunks and the rest of the NBA’s Top 10 is stellar, with appearances by LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and DeAndre Jordan. Have a look:
