A day following a scary fall where he landed on the back of his head, Toronto Raptors forward Landry Fields was able to participate in practice Saturday, after passing a series of concussion tests.
Midway through the third quarter of the Raptors’ 110-100 win over the Pistons, Fields attempted to close out Detroit’s Kyle Singler and got up-ended in the process, falling on the back of his head and neck hard.
As a result, the 26-year-old was forced to leave the game and had to receive stitches to his head.
During his initial medical examination he passed the NBA’s concussion protocol.
The 21-6 Raptors next play against the New York Knicks at Air Canada Centre Sunday, but there’s been no word if Fields will be available to play.
In 12 games played this season, Fields is averaging 3.2 points per game on 59.3 percent shooting.
