Raptors’ Fred VanVleet out vs. Wizards with hamstring injury

NBA insider Alvin Williams joins Lead Off to discuss his playoff expectations for the Raptors this season without a "superstar" player, and whether Pascal Siakam might one day fill that role.

Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet will not play against the Washington Wizards on Friday.

VanVleet has missed the past four games with a hamstring injury and is expected to make his return on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to head coach Nick Nurse.

The 25-year-old is averaging 18 points, 3.9 rebounds and seven assists per game this season, while shooting 39.4 per cent from the field and 37.2 per cent from three.
