Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard has been named the Eastern Conference player of the week.
Leonard earned the honour after averaging 29.3 points and nine rebounds per game to help lead the Raptors to a perfect 3-0 week and extend their record to an NBA-best 20-4.
This is the fifth time in Leonard’s career he’s earned a player of the week nod and the first time he’s won it in the Eastern Conference. The last time Leonard won it was on March 6, 2017 as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.
The Denver Nuggets‘ Paul Millsap was the Western Conference player of the week.
The two winners will clash Monday night at Scotiabank Arena as the Raptors take on the Nuggets in a battle between a pair of teams on hot streaks.
