The Toronto Raptors will be without Kawhi Leonard when they face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
The 2014 Finals MVP has averaged 24.2 points and 8.2 rebounds with a .574 true shooting percentage in 13 appearances this year.
Toronto has taken a cautious approach to managing Leonard’s health this season after he was limited to just nine games last year due to a right quadriceps injury.
He’s yet to play on consecutive nights as a Raptor, having sat out at least one game in each of the team’s first five back-to-backs. As such, sitting him tonight after playing 30 minutes in yesterday’s win against Orlando comes as no surprise.
The 27-year-old wasn’t alone on the injury report. OG Anunoby (wrist) and C.J. Miles (adductor) were out for Wednesday’s game as well. Norman Powell is expected to be sidelined until Dec. 10 at the earliest with a shoulder injury.
