The Toronto Raptors have traded a player, just not the one everyone was expecting,
Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that the Raptors have dealt forward James Johnson to the Sacramento Kings for a future second-round pick.
The deal may be announced as early as Monday.
The Raptors are also said to be shopping point guard Jose Calderon after having acqired a new starting point guard in Kyle Lowry.
Johnson averaged 9.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season but fell into coach Dwane Casey’s doghouse after a strong start to the season and saw a decrease in his minutes.
He will earn $2.8 million next season, the final year of his contract.
