Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse has been named the Eastern Conference coach of the month for games played in January, the league announced.
Throughout January, Nurse guided the Raptors to a 12-3 record — including an Eastern Conference-best 9-1 record on the road and a 10-game winning streak — while continuing to navigate injuries to key players.
That stretch catapulted the Raptors into second place in the conference, and earned Nurse a spot coaching Team Giannis at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game in Chicago.
This marks the second time this season Nurse has won the award this season — and third time in his career overall — having also claimed it for games played in October and November.
