Raptors’ Norman Powell out indefinitely with subluxation of left shoulder

NBA analyst Michael Grange joins Good Show to explain why he believes the timing of the Marc Gasol injury won’t affect the Raptors as negatively as the loss of Norm Powell, especially with Serge Ibaka healthy and ready to step back in as starter.

Toronto Raptors guard Norman Powell will be out indefinitely after sustaining a subluxation of the left shoulder, the team announced Thursday.

Powell was injured trying to fight through a screen in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s win over the Detroit Pistons. He left the game after clutching his left shoulder finishing with nine points, three rebounds and three assists in 33:05.

The 26-year-old was sidelined 21 games last season with a subluxation of the same shoulder.

The five-year pro had been off to a strong start to the 2019-20 season averaging 14.6 points, 1.2 steals, 1.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds on 49.8 per cent shooting from the field and 39.4 from three-point range.
