The Toronto Raptors have officially signed centre Bismack Biyombo to a multi-year deal, bolstering a frontcourt that’s in dire need of a rim protector.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
Biyombo is limited offensively, averaging a meagre 4.8 points per game with the Charlotte Hornets this past season, but registered 1.5 blocks on a nightly basis in less than 20 minutes of action.
“Bismack brings athleticism and interior length to our team,” said Raptors president and general manager Masai Ujiri. “He has proven to be an exceptional rim protector and his physicality will be a great asset to us defensively.”
A native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Biyombo was drafted seventh overall in 2011 by the Sacramento Kings, but has spent his entire four-year career with Charlotte.
Toronto finished atop the Atlantic Division in 2014-15, but was swept in the opening round of the playoffs by the Washington Wizards. The Raptors have also added DeMarre Carroll, Cory Joseph and Luis Scola thus far in free agency.
