Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet is available to play in Game 6 with Washington Wizards.

VanVleet has been dealing with a shoulder injury he suffered in Toronto’s regular-season finale that has sidelined him for all but three minutes played in Game 2 of the Raptors’ first-round playoff matchup.

In that Game 2, both VanVleet and the team thought he was good to go, but that assessment proved premature as he was shut down shortly after trying to give it a go.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a breakout sophomore season, averaging 8.6 points and and 3.2 assists per game while shooting a dead-eye 41.4 per cent from three-point range as one of the Raptors’ key reserves this past season.

Earlier on Friday, Washington announced that forward Otto Porter Jr. will miss the remainder of the first round after undergoing a procedure on his left leg.

Toronto can finish off the Wizards Friday night in Washington, currently leading their series 3-2. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE.
