The Toronto Raptors have recalled guard Matt Thomas, forward Stanley Johnson, and forward Malcolm Miller from Raptors 905 after a one-game stint, according to the team.

For Thomas, who was a part of the Raptors’ regular rotation earlier this season before going down with a finger fracture on his left hand, the assignment was a chance to get him some run in a competitive environment before dropping him right back into significant playing time with the parent club on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The sharpshooting guard wasn’t shy about letting it fly on Monday night, taking 19 shots in 34 minutes and scoring 18 points against the Erie Bayhawks. He did show some slight rust — understandable having missed 21 games — and was just 2-of-8 from three-point range.

Thomas is one of the best shooters the Raptors have on hand, averaging a red-hot 53.8 per cent shooting on 2.2 attempts from distance for the season. Toronto will certainly be eager to have him back, as they’ve spent the early days of the new year ranked dead last in three-point percentage (25.7 per cent in January).

Although Johnson and Miller haven’t been regular pieces of the Raptors’ rotation like Thomas, the two were also sent down to the G League in order to get some run in.

It was an off night for the parent club, and so there was no schedule conflict present. The 905 have also been thinned out recently by two call-ups (Paul Watson by Atlanta; Justin Anderson by Brooklyn), and so the pair added some much needed depth to the roster, even if briefly.

Johnson led the 905 with 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Miller scored six points and had six rebounds versus Erie.
