Toronto Raptors forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will not play in Game 3 against the Brooklyn Nets with a swollen left knee, the team announced Friday.
He joins Patrick McCaw (knee) and Oshae Brissett (knee) on the Raptors’ inactive players list.
The 25-year-old has been a staple off of the bench this season, often providing a spark of energy through his gritty defence and rebounding, and has been head coach Nick Nurse’s first option for the eighth spot in the rotation through two playoff games.
In his place, Matt Thomas, who has been Nurse’s ninth-man choice, will likely continue to see some time, and one of Terence Davis (who has played limited minutes) or Chris Boucher will probably get in on the action.
Hollis-Jefferson has averaged three points and two rebounds on 33.3 per cent shooting in the two post-season performances against Brooklyn.
