The Toronto Raptors waived forward Sagaba Konate on Wednesday, according to an announcement made by the team. The move trims Toronto’s roster to 19, leaving work to be done to get down to the maximum of 15 by opening night.
According to The Athletic‘s Blake Murphy, Konate is likely headed to the Raptors 905 — Toronto’s G League team — as an affiliate player.
Konate, 22, signed with the Raptors as an undrafted free agent in June after spending the previous three years at West Virginia. He averaged 13.8 points per game in his final year, but missed most of the season with a knee injury.
