Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has been diagnosed with a nerve impingement in his lower back and will be re-evaluated in about two weeks, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The 23-year-old left in the first quarter of the team’s 119-98 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last weekend. He only managed to play five minutes, picking up five points and two rebounds.
Simmons sat out during the 76ers’ 129-112 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
In 54 games this season, Simmons is averaging 16.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
