Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid exited Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers with an ankle injury and will not return, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Embiid sustained the injury in the first quarter, landing awkwardly on a shot block attempt.

He tried to stretch out his ankle on the sidelines, but ultimately left for the locker room and was unable to return to play.

Entering Sunday, Embiid was averaging 30 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in Philadelphia’s first four games inside the Orlando bubble. He is a two-time All-NBA and All-Defensive Team selection.
