The Philadelphia 76ers are trading winger Jonathon Simmons and the No. 42 pick in the 2019 draft to the Washington Wizards, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The pieces heading back to Philadelphia in the deal are unclear at this point.
The move gives the 76ers additional cap flexibility heading into free agency in July, which could be crucial considering the team has multiple players set to hit unrestricted free agency, including Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris.
Simmons, 29, averaged 6.5 points, 2.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 56 games split between the 76ers and Orlando Magic last season.
