The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly waived guard Iman Shumpert, according to The Athletic‘s Shams Charania.
The Nets were reluctant to give up the 29-year-old, Charania added, but did so due to full roster guarantees.
When the team signed Shumpert back on Nov. 13, they did so with a 16th roster spot that was made available until the end of a 25-game suspension given to Wilson Chandler, who violated the NBA’s drug policy.
Shumpert added some much needed depth to the injury-riddled Nets, and played 13 total games with them, contributing to a 9–4 record in that time and averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds on 32.8 per cent shooting from the field.
