Boston Celtics star Kemba Walker is probable to return to the lineup Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets less than one week after he suffered a neck injury, The Athletic‘s Shams Charania is reporting.
Walker collided head-first with teammate Semi Ojeleye’s abdominal area in Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets and had to be stretchered off the court with a brace on his neck.
However, by Monday he was back on the bench cheering on his teammates against the Sacramento Kings after going through multiple cognitive tests over the weekend.
“It looked like it was going to be a very serious injury, but thankfully it turned out not to be a very serious injury,” team physician Dr. Tony Schena said Monday.
Walker is averaging 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 15 games this season.
