Superstar and soon-to-be free agent Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers have tentatively scheduled a meeting for July 2, reports The Athletic’s Frank Isola.

The two-time NBA Finals MVP is expected to decline his 2019-20 player option for $21.3 million with the Toronto Raptors to hit the market on June 30.

The 27-year-old guided the Raptors to their first-ever NBA title earlier this month, averaging 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 24 playoff games as he picked up his second championship.

A recent report by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports suggested Toronto is the favourite to sign Leonard.
