The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Mike Muscala to the Los Angeles Lakers for Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Beasley is averaging 7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on 49 per cent shooting from the field in 26 games played for the Lakers this season. The 30-year-old is signed to a $3.5 million contract that will expire at the end of the season, making him an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
In his third NBA season, Zubac is averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. The 21-year-old centre has two years left on his rookie deal, which will pay him $1.5 million this season and $1.9 million in 2019-20.
It’s the second time Muscala has been traded heading into the deadline, he was previously a piece in the Philadelphia 76ers trade with the Clippers in which the Clippers acquired Tobias Harris. In 47 games with the 76ers he has averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds.
