DeMarcus Cousins will not join a team and play when the NBA resumes the 2019-20 season in Orlando in July, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Cousins has not played all season after tearing his ACL last summer and he was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers in February without ever playing a game for them. According to Charania, multiple teams expressed interest in signing Cousins for the remainder of the season but the four-time all-star has instead opted to continue to focus on his rehab.
Cousins has been limited to only 78 games since the start of the 2017-18 season due to a series of injuries, including a torn Achilles tendon.
The NBA regular season will resume with 22 teams at Walt Disney World in Orlando on July 30. Starting Tuesday at noon ET, a seven-day transaction window will open to allow teams to waive and sign players.
