The Houston Rockets and centre Clint Capela have agreed to a five-year contract extension according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Capela, who was a restricted free agent, is set to earn $90 million over the course of the deal.

The 24-year-old set career highs in points (13.9), rebounds (10.8) and blocks (1.9) per game and field goal percentage, connecting on 65.2 per cent of his shot attempts.

Capela had the option of signing a $4.3-million qualifying offer that would have seen him become an unrestricted free agent following the 2018-19 campaign.
