Former all-star guard Isaiah Thomas will sign a one-year contract with the Washington Wizards, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.
Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Thomas played just 12 games with the Denver Nuggets last season after only playing 32 the season before split between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Thomas has battled persistent hip problems that have limited his productivity and taken him off the court, but when healthy Thomas was one of the NBA’s premier guards, being named an all-star in 2016 and 2017 while a member of the Boston Celtics.
He joins a Wizards team that’s dealing with an injury to star point guard John Wall, who underwent surgery on a ruptured Achilles’ tendon in February and won’t be able to return to action until Feb. 2020 at the earliest.
