Disgruntled star Jimmy Butler is expected to play in the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ season opener against the San Antonio Spurs, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Charania also reports trade talks between the Timberwolves and Miami Heat have reached a standstill.

Butler made waves last week when he caused a scene at practice Wednesday. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, a belligerent Butler turned to Minnesota’s general manager Scott Layden at one point during the practice and yelled, “You [expletive] need me! You can’t win without me!”

Butler requested a trade from Minnesota last month. The 29-year-old has two years remaining on a five-year, $92-million deal he signed with the Bulls, however the final year of the contract is a player option.
