Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will make his return to Toronto on Dec. 11, Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting.

Leonard helped the Toronto Raptors win their first-ever NBA championship this past June and was named the 2019 Finals MVP.

The 28-year-old reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Clippers worth $103 million with a player option on the third year.

Toronto traded for Leonard in July last year after an ugly departure from the San Antonio Spurs. At the time, Leonard had a player option on the 2019-20 season that he would ultimately decline to become an unrestricted free agent. Despite the Raptors’ best efforts to convince Leonard to stay after a singular, championship season, he opted to return to his hometown of Los Angeles with the Clippers, who also managed to secure six-time all-star Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
