Co-host of Writers Bloc, Richard Deitsch joins Lead Off to discuss how the media handled the shocking and tragic death of Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant will enter the Basketball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility as part of the 2020 class, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The 18-time NBA All-Star and five-time champ with the Los Angeles Lakers is expected to be elected out of a group that also includes Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Chris Bosh.

Bryant, 41, died along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, in a helicopter crash Sunday.

The finalists were set to be revealed at February’s All-Star Weekend and inductees were expected to be named in April.
