UPDATE: DeMarcus Cousins has reportedly suffered a torn ACL, as per The Athletic‘s Shams Charania.

Los Angeles Lakers centre DeMarcus Cousins has suffered “a possible knee injury,” according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Cousins was reportedly injured during a workout on Monday in Las Vegas and will undergo further tests Thursday in L.A.

Cousins signed a one-year deal with the Lakers in July after spending last season with the Golden State Warriors. The 29-year-old played in just 30 regular-season games for the Warriors in 2018-19 due to a ruptured Achilles he suffered as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in January 2018. He averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists for Golden State last season.

Cousins was also limited to only eight post-season games this spring after sustaining a quad injury in the first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Clippers. He returned for the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, suiting up in all six contests.
