In a move that comes as a surprise to no one, LeBron James will not be traded ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
James won’t waive his no-trade clause and will finish the 2017-18 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
The 33-year-old James is expected to opt out of his current contract at the end of this season, but will stay with Cleveland at least until then.
James is averaging 26.3 points, 8.7 assists and 8.0 rebounds with the Cavaliers this year. Cleveland’s regular season hasn’t gone according to script as the three-time defending Eastern Conference champs currently occupy the third seed, 7.5 games back of first place.
