Report: Nurse’s deal with Raptors worth nearly $10 million over 3 years

Raptors TV analyst Leo Rautins joins the Jeff Blair Show to discuss why Nick Nurse is a good fit with this Toronto Raptors squad, describing him as a great in-game coach, who really connects with his players.

Nick Nurse’s deal with the Toronto Raptors is worth nearly $10 million over three years, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Nurse, who won two D-League titles as a coach before coming to the NBA, has spent the past five seasons as an assistant coach with the Raptors under Dwane Casey, who was fired following the Raptors’ second round loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last month.

This past season Nurse was credited with playing a major role in overhauling the team’s offence, finding ways to move the ball more and manufacture three-point shot opportunities.

The Raptors will formally introduce Nurse as head coach Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
